THE owner of a booming dog grooming business in the Borders believes she has found the 'paw-fect' new home.

Scottish Borders Council has received a planning bid for the change of use of a retail unit at 91 High Street in Selkirk.

Maddie Harvey, the owner of Pawfection dog grooming, currently based at 55 High Street, wants to make the switch to meet growing demand.

In a report with the application, Ms Harvey says: “Our current workload is such that we are looking to expand our services to a larger premises also including a pet shop component.

“The premises in question is a Class 1 retail but we are looking to change to a Class 2 professional use.

“It has an alleyway on one side and a garden on the other, making it an ideal location for us.”
