CLOTHES which were intended to be donated to charity have been stolen.
Seven charity donation bins in car parks around the Borders had their padlocks cut so thieves could access the donated clothes.
Police are now appealing for information about the thefts which took place between December 6, 2023 and January 9, 2024.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Between 6 December 2023 and 9 January 2024, padlocks were cut to gain access to the bins and items of clothing left as charity donations have been stolen from within.
"The bins affected were located in car parks at the following stores –
- Tesco, Dovecot Rd, Peebles
- Co-Op, Peebles Rd, Innerleithen
- B & M, Croft Rd, Hawick
- Co-Op High Croft, Kelso
- Co-Op, Roxburgh St, Kelso
- Co-Op, Melrose Rd, Earlston
- Tesco, Paton St, Galashiels
"Anyone with information regarding these thefts should contact police on 101 and quote reference CR/17402/24."
