AN exile rugby side has passed on almost £700 to a Borders sports charity.
The Slippery Gypsies was founded by a number of Galashiels rugby players who were living and working in Australia and went on to play in a series of tournaments down under.
The side wore the Rowan Boland Memorial Trust logo on their strips and have now handed over a cheque for £690 from sales of their shirts.
Dean Keddie of the Gypsies said: "We had a great time Down Under as part of the Gypsies team and there are still a few Gala lads playing in the side.
"Those of us who have come back to Scotland hope to return to Australia to play in a sevens tournament but in the meantime we are delighted to hand over a cheque to the Trust."
Dave Boland of the Trust said: "We are proud that the Gypsies chose us as one of the charities they would support and that they wore our logo on their shirts in tournaments across Australia.
"We look forward to seeing them back in action in soon."
